Reva A. Slish, 96, a resident at Mallard Meadows Residential Healthcare Center in Waymart, formerly of Beach Lake, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Slish in 1977. Born on July 20, 1914 in Milanville, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Vesta (Hartman) Scott. Reva and her husband owned and operated a family dairy farm for many years, and Reva was especially fond of working with the animals. She also enjoyed growing flowers. Reva was a member of the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church. Above all, Reva dearly loved her family. She is survived by a son: Gary Slish and his wife Joyce of Honesdale; two granddaughters: Jennifer Morgan and her husband, Tim of Beach Lake and Tanya Turner, and her husband Brian of Muskego, Wisconsin; four great-grandchildren: Molly and Mariah Morgan, and Cody and Benjamin Turner; a brother: Billy Scott of Hawley; two sisters: Phyllis Williams of Damascus, and Sally Schafler of Sidney, NY. She was also preceded in death by a son: Richard Slish; two brothers: Russell and Chester Scott; and two sisters: Gladys Jenks and Dorothy Bigelow. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church, 107 Milanville Road, Beach Lake with Rev. Christopher Freet officiating. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the church. Graveside Interment Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the Indian Orchard Cemetery.
