Ernest L. Simmons, 70 of Honesdale, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 13, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Simmons. Born in Jersey City, NJ he currently drove bus for Wayne Highlands School District and for 23 years was responsible for the transportation organization at Camp Towanda. Ernie was a member of the Seelyville Fire Company for 41 years and was currently serving as the President of the Wayne County Fire Police Association. He was a member of the Wayne County Fireman's Federation and served as an assistant PA State Constable. Ernie was involved with the Boy Scouts serving as an assistant scout master for Troop 1. Above all, Ernie loved his grandchildren and the time he shared with them. He is also survived by three children: E. Lee Simmons, Jr. and his wife Joanne of American Canyon, California and their three children; a daughter, Shirley Kille and her husband Jim of Honesdale, and their four children; and Colin Simmons of Simpson, Pa; and his two children; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Tabernacle Bible Church, 455 Grove Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Dr. Richard Gregory officiating. Friends may visit at the Tabernacle Bible Church from 6:00-9:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2011, and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Memorial Contributions may be made in Ernie's Memory to the Seelyville Fire Company 1200 Bridge Street, Seelyville, PA 18431. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A.
