Paul A. Liptak, 89, of Bethany, died peacefully on April 25, 2016. He is married to Catherine Jensen Liptak and was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Edna Roe in 1975. He was born in Peckville the son of Paul B. and Sophie Wallace Liptak. Paul joined the United States Navy during World War II and after returning to Beach Lake he operated a dairy farm. He served as Berlin Township Supervisor and Roadmaster for 18 years and also worked for Camp Munsee in Beach Lake as a caretaker. He later worked as a salesman for John Bonham Road Supplies in Honesdale until retiring.Paul was a member of the Bethany Central United Methodist Church and a former lay reader at the Beach Lake United Methodist church. He will be remembered as a good man who enjoyed playing guitar and listening to bluegrass music. Paul always cherished time with his family and had great pride in his four boys and grandchildren. Paul was mechanically inclined and could build and fix just about anything. Survived by sons, David Liptak and his wife Judy of Beach Lake, Daniel Liptak of Bethany, Gerald Liptak and his wife Linda of Beach Lake, James Liptak and his wife Lisa of Dyberry Township; step son, Thomas Jensen and his wife Marie of Kirkland, Wash.; brother, Thomas Liptak and his wife Helen of S. Canaan; sister, Rose Rotundo and her husband John of Beach Lake; grandchildren, Darren and Nadja Liptak of Harrisburg, Ryan and Olga Liptak of New Hampshire, Ashley and Ellie Provenzano-Liptak of Honesdale, Jessica Liptak of Bethany, and Dustin Liptak of Honesdale. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 3:00pm in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street Honesdale Pa. Friends may call starting at 1:00pm Interment will be held at the family's convienence. Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany Cemetery Association 438 Wayne Street Bethany, Pa 18431
