Michael T. Bresset, 74, of Honesdale died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Audrey Burdick. Born April 14, 1942 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late George and Rosemary Coyne Bresset. Michael served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Honesdale American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War. Mike was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed all the aspects of the sport. He raced at Beach Lake and was well known as #86. In addition to his love of racing and race cars, Mike enjoyed convertibles. Mike worked for many years as a produce manager in Acme and later worked at the Hawley IGA, and Dave's Super Duper. He was very fond of his many trips to Florida with Audrey and always enjoyed the time they spent there. Above all, Mike was a devoted and beloved husband will be deeply missed and always loved. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Thomas of Reeders, PA; and his brother, Stephen Bresset and his wife Anne of Honesdale; a sister-in-law, Marlene Bresset; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, his twin, Fred Bresset, and James Bresset. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 414 Church Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. Friends are asked to go directly to the church. Friends may visit on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. Military Honors will be rendered at 6:45 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mike's memory to The American Lung, 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011. www.bryantfuneralhome.com
