Gerald M., "Jerry" Reining of Beach Lake passed away peacefully on August 26, 2016 at Regional Hospital in Scranton. He was married to the former Gail Hartman for 58 years. Jerry was born in Honesdale September 21, 1935 the son of the late William and Mildred Marshall Reining. He served in the United States Army and was a lumberman. Until his retirement in 2003,Jerry owned and operated W.J. Reining & Sons/Reining Forest Products in Beach Lake, which has been in operation since 1944. Jerry was a member of the Beach Lake Hunting and Fishing Club, the Beach Lake United Methodist Church, and was a lifetime member of the Beach Lake Fire Company. His joys in life were his family, traveling, and the outdoors. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, David Reining and his wife Bonnie of Beach Lake, Paul Reining and his wife Penny of Lake Ariel; a daughter Amy Bass and her husband Tom of Beach Lake; a brother William Reining and his wife Lois of Memphis, Indiana ; sisters, Marie Olver of Beach Lake, Lila Westgate of Lake Mary, FL, and Meryl Cron and her husband Robert of Newfoundland; grandchildren, Daniel Reining, Sara Smith and husband Eric, Stephanie Reining, Brian Schmoyer and wife Jennifer, Stacy Phillips and husband Michael, David Schmoyer and wife Kalyn, Kristin McGrath and husband Brian, Megan Gustafson and husband Heath, Kyle Reining and wife Heather, Taylor Bass, and Erin Bass; great grandchildren Kimberlyn, Leila, Makayla, Nolan, Skyler, Aiden, Jacob, Audrey, Jameson, Ezekiel, and Xander; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister Lois Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Beach Lake United Methodist Church , Beach Lake with the Rev. Barbara Synder officiating. Friends may visit on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00. Interment will be in the Beach Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beach Lake United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 387, Beach Lake, PA 18405.
