Robert C. Racht of Waymart passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Forest City Nursing Home following an illness. He was married to Patricia Gillow Racht Born on January 23, 1934 he was the son of the late Clifford and Theresa Kellachow Racht. Robert graduated from Waymart High School . After high school he served in the United States Navy for four years from 1953-1957 where he attained the rank of Petty Officer Second Class.. He returned to Honesdale and worked at S. J. Bailey's and then Moore Business Forms until retiring. Robert enjoyed gardening, bee keeping, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman who hunted and fished in the Waymart and S. Canaan area near the Racht Homestead and will be remembered for his love of music and singing with his grandchildren. Robert is survived by three sons, Peter Racht and his wife Mabel of Lake Ariel, Martyn Racht and his wife Peggy of St. Helenes, Oregon, Jason Kutch and his wife Kristen of Honesdale; three daughters, Carmen Fanning and her husband Paul of Spencer, NY, Lisa Histed and her husband James of Lake Ariel, Mary Garnett and her husband Dan of Waymart; 3 brothers: William Racht and wife Katherine, Alfred Racht and wife Catherine , and Edwin Ann Racht and wife Eve; 4 sisters: Shirley Cliff and her husband Wayland, Kaye Johnson and her husband Art, Alycia Hawk, and Phyllis Krajkovich and her husband Paul; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Tabernacle Bible Church, 455 Grove Street Honesdale, Pa 18431with services by Rev .John S. Banks. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 No rth Main Street, Honesdale.
