Obituary of Ethel M. Knapp

Ethel M. Knapp, 98, of Honesdale, died on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. She was married to the late Russell Knapp who died in 1990.

Ethel was born in Rileyville on October 3, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Stella Madigan Brown.

She worked with her late husband on a dairy farm for many years. And later worked as a seamstress in Honesdale. Ethel liked cooking, quilting, and sugaring and baking and will be remembered for her favorite chocolate chip cookies. Ethel attended the Cold Spring/Rileyville Presbyterian Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

Ethel is survived by her children, Robert Lester Knapp and his wife Bonnie of Oneonta, NY, Pete Knapp of Honesdale, Betty Marie Smith and her husband Ronald of Beech Grove, Doris Labar and her husband Eugene of Wyalusing, Pa; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Elwood Knapp in 2000 and 2 sisters, Chloe Eldred and Lula Elmore.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 Main Street Honesdale, Pa with the Rev. Mary Bryant officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00-2:00 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Burial will be in the Spring at Bolkcom Cemetery.
