Mary C. "Connie" Bass, 84, of Beach Lake passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 6, 2018 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Bass in 1996. Born on September 14, 1933 in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia O'Hara. Connie was raised in the family funeral home in Pleasant Mount where her late father, Joseph O'Hara was the funeral director. She graduated from Pleasant Mount School and went on to marry Mervin and raise their family. Connie was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family more than anything. In later years, she was a Postal Clerk at the Beach Lake Post Office where she enjoyed many friendships in the community. Connie also supported the Beach Lake Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies' Auxiliary by making phone calls every month. Connie is survived by two children: Mary Alice Bass of Beach Lake and Thomas Bass and his wife Amy of Beach Lake; three granddaughters: Debbie Franklin and her husband Bill, Taylor Bass, and Erin Bass; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Franklin and her significant other Jeremy Taninies, Billy Franklin, and Morgan Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two children: Barbara Bass and James Bass. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at 11:00 A.M. in the Beach Lake United Methodist Church, 7 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, PA18405 with Rev. Barbara Snyder officiating. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, April 10 from 2:00-4:00 and>6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Connie's memory to the Connie Bass Memorial Fund at Honesdale National Bank which will help to provide the continuity of loving care for Connie's daughter, Mary.
