Marilyn E. LaTourette, 80 of Torrey, PA died Monday, January 9, 2012 at home after an illness. She is survived by her husband, Carl O. LaTourette. Born on August 31, 1931 in Rileyville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Merritt and Esther Brill Vail. Marilyn was a member of the Torrey United Methodist Church and the Enterprise Grange. She served as the Judge of Election for Oregon Township for many years. Marilyn was also a member of the ACE Snowmobile Club and was fond of snowmobiling with her family. She belonged to the PA Farm Bureau and was also a member of the Dairyman's League. Marilyn enjoyed writing in her diary and reading poetry. Dedicated to her family, she helped on the family dairy farm where she kept her home and raised her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She is also survived by six children: Clinton LaTourette and his wife Arline, Mark LaTourette and his wife Bonnie, Carla Komar and her husband, Michael, Gerald LaTourette and his wife Marie, Grant LaTourette and his wife Denise and Gerritt LaTourette and his wife Vicky all of Torrey; fifteen grandchildren: Kelly Moser and her husband Wesley, Adam LaTourette, Theron LaTourette and his wife Chelsea, Ryan, Kristi, Valeri LaTourette, Kayla and Trevor Komar, Jason and Andrew LaTourette, Brandie Weist and her husband Dominic, Michael and Daniel Bryant, Brenda Kosciuk and her husband Joseph, and Jennifer Swendsen; two sisters: Beulah Schweighofer of Girdland, Vera Schirrmacher of Ithaca, and a brother, Carryl Vail of Shippensburg, PA. Marilyn was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marion LaTourette, a step-daughter, Susan Swendsen, a brother, Milton Vail, and a sister, Beverly Cashmore. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Mary Bryant officiating. Friends may visit on Sunday, January 15 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
