Obituary of John J. Barral

John J. Barral, 70, Honesdale died Friday January 6, 2017 at Community Medical Center Scranton after an illness. He is survived by his wife the former Lorraine Russo. He was also a brother to Gary Barral of Arizona. Born in Astoria, NY son of the late John and Concetta Strolla Barral, he graduated from William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens , New York. He then joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Returning to Queens after the war he worked as a specialty technician for A. T. & T. He also operated a real estate business in Queens and eventually in the Honesdale area. John loved antique classic cars and was the proud owner of a 1962 Thunderbird and a 1963 Lincoln Town Car. He also enjoyed oldie music especially from the 1960's. He will also be remembered as an animal lover and rescuer, especially cats. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. A visitation with military honors will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale .
