Obituary of Rocco J. Musella
Please share a memory of Rocco to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rocco J. Musella, 49, of Honesdale, passed away January 6, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, after his brave battle of a long term illness.
Rocco knew the true meaning of life. Nothing brought him more pleasure than to be surrounded by his loving family and friends. He wore a leather jacket, a T-shirt by Skid Row, Metallica..., and a pair of jeans. He enjoyed cooking, watching NASCAR, telling stories, making people laugh, listening to loud music (especially 80's hair bands), and live concerts. He spent his summer's outside by the pool until sunrise, grilling-barefoot, and going riding with his family and friends.
Rocco was born on March, 19th 1967 in Passaic, NJ son of Rocco Musella Sr. and Katherine Reisen Musella of Honesdale. Rocco was preceded in death by Dorthy Reese, the love of his life.
He graduated from Honesdale High School and attended Keystone College where he studied accounting.
Rocco had a passion for playing baseball and had a natural talent for it, too. He played on his High School baseball team where his pitching speeds reach 98 mph. He continued to follow his passion for baseball throughout his life. He coached his family and friends and played on local baseball leagues.
To all who knew Rocco, you should know that it would still mean so much to him, for you to come by and visit now and then. But this time you tell the stories.
Rocco was a fun loving and very caring son, father, grandfather, and a friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his beloved children; Rocco Gyetvai and wife Amanda Jessup; Anthony Gyetvai and wife Rachel Carbondale, and Angela Gyetvai Dunmore; a sister, Marie Musella Kuhn and husband Mark Lackawaxen; 8 grandchildren; Ethan, Collin, Armani, Rokko, Kendra, Gabriella, Sabatino, Giovanni, two Nephews; Michael and Nickolas, and a dearest friend; Sarah Forman Old Forge.
There will be a grave side prayer held in spring to honor Rocco, at the request of the family.
