Obituary of Beverly Buckland

Beverly Buckland, age 79 died on March 14, 2017.
She was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota but resided in Bethany,
Pennsylvania for most of her adult life. Beverly was a Corpsman in the
Navy after graduating High School. While in the Service, she met and
married the love of her life, Karl Buckland.
Beverly earned a Business Degree from Lackawanna College.
Throughout her career she worked at both the Wayne Memorial Hospital
and the Wayne County Courthouse.
For several years she and Karl enjoyed taking cruises to Mexico
and the Bahamas as well a trip to Ireland, while he was a Recreational
Vehicles Sales Manager. Beverly and Karl also enjoyed spending time
with family and friends during weekends at the pond on their property.
After retirement, Beverly began a second career carpooling the
granddaughters and spending time watching them grow-up. She was a
dedicated Mother and devoted Grandmother. Family meant everything to
her and she was always available for a quick phone call, shopping trip or
spending an evening together with her girls! She also was very active in
the Bethany United Methodist Church and was a valuable asset to her
church family.
Beverly is survived by three daughters and two son-in-laws: Debra
and Thomas Robinson, Lori Buckland, Karen and Jack Rickert.
She is survived by grandchildren: Kate Robinson, Amy and Ryan
Hnat, Susie and Austin Lake, Kelly Rickert and Jessica Ferdinand;
two brothers and sister-in-laws: Josephn And Chris Dunhom and John
and Sharon Allbee; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and David Flanighan;
a sister-in-law, Esther Harrington; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Karl Buckland,
granddaughter, Sarah Rickert, brother, Edward Dunhom, sister-in-law,
Delores Dunhom, and brother, Bernard "Butch" Dunhom.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 18th at 11 am in
the Bethany United Methodist Church at 3 Court Street Bethany Pa.
Everyone is welcome.
Beverly requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to
the Shriner's Children's Hospital, St Jude's Hospital, or the Music
Department of the Bethany United Methodist Church.
Thank you to the Wayne Memorial Hospital Emergency Room
Staff, ICU and Hospice Care Nurses and Social Workers. Your service
and kindness is appreciated.
Beverly was a loving, caring Mother and Grandmother. We look
forward to being reunited with her in heaven one day!
