Thelma J. Adams of Equinunk passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Robert Adams. Born in Oneonta, NY, the daughter of the late Ralph and Catherine Rowell McIntosh,Thelma graduated from A.K. Kellogg High School in Treadwell, NY and attended SUNY Delhi University where she received a degree in Dietary Science. She moved to Callicoon in 1963 to work as a dietician for Delaware Valley Central School. Thelma met Robert and they married on August 15, 1964. Later she worked for many years as a secretary for Dr. Bradley Layton in Lookout and subsequently obtained a realtor's license and worked for Davis R. Chant. Thelma enjoyed woodworking at her shop at home. She was a member of the Braman United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Steven Adams and his wife Amy of Damascus and Jeffrey Adams and his wife Nicole of Equinunk; a daughter, Catherine Hillriegel and her husband Phil of Equinunk; a sister, Margaret Bartow of Callicoon Center; grandchildren, Madeline, Jacob, Hunter, Summer , Nicholas, Julia, Nathan, Daniel, Tom, Tim, Tyler, and Taylor; great grandchildren, Colton and Ellianna. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in- law, Clare Adams who died in 2008. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the Braman United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM with Pastor Glen Davis officiating. A lucheon will follow the services at the Pine Mill Community Center. Memorial contributions m be made to the Equinunk Fire Company,Equinunk, PA 18417; The Damascus Volunteer Ambulance, Damascus, PA, 18415, or the Equinunk Historical Society, 1972 Pine Mill Rd., Equinunk, PA 18417.
