Obituary of Alton Harvey

Alton Harvey of Dyberry Township died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. He was married to the late Shirley Stegner Harvey who died May 30, 1987. Born June 12, 1929 he was the son of Joseph and Harriet Bates Harvey. Alton was a retired dairy farmer, and carpenter, who also worked as an electrician at the Wayne County Fair. He was a member and former trustee of the Bethany United Methodist Church and was an honorary director of the Wayne County Fair. He is survived by three daughters: Diane and husband Paul Mott, Jan and husband Tim Kohrs, and Joan and husband Michael Donofry all of Honesdale; three grandchildren, Jason, Jon, and Janine Donofry of Honesdale; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Mignon Olver, Wanda Trevethan, Lila Bates, and Romaine Myers. Funeral services will be held at the Bethany United Methodist Church on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street Honesdale on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 PM.
