William T. Marshall,85, died Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Freiermuth Marshall.
Born in Honesdale, he was the son of Thomas Marshall and Margaret Naomi Butler. He graduated from Honesdale High School in 1955. After graduation he worked on the family farm until 1966 when he began employment at S.J. Bailey's and Sons where he worked in quality control until his retirement in 2011. William also ran Marshall's Hilltop Hobby Shop on the Beach Lake Highway with his wife.He was well known as a motorcycle hill climber all over the east coast. He also raced radio-controlled cars.
William was a member of the Keystone Sportsmans Motorcycle Club and the 4 H Motorcycle Club and for many years he taught First Aid and CPR for the Red Cross.
He is also survived by his daughter, Sherry L. Bryer, Beach Lake Highway, a granddaughter, Holly VanVarrick and a great granddaughter, Jayden Johannes.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral home, Honesdale with Rev. Duane Canfield officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
