Betty F. Freiermuth Obituary

Betty F. Freiermuth, 101, formerly of Beach Lake and most recently a resident at Forest City Nursing Home passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Born March 26, 1923 in Honesdale she was a daughter of the late Grant and Charlotte (Blackmore) Huff. Betty attended Wallenpaupack High School.

Betty was an entrepreneur and owned several local businesses including the Halfway House and Shamrock Homes. She was an energetic person who loved to sing and play harmonica and guitar. She will be remembered as a woman of great kindness and generosity who loved her family and animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard O. Freiermuth, two grandsons, Craig Hatton and Kevin Freiermuth, and a son, Maynard A. Freiermuth and son-in-law Charles Hatton. She was also preceded in death by siblings Grant “Gerald” Huff, Mildred Jezercak and Dorothy Altemier.

Betty is survived by a daughter Annetta Hatton of Honesdale, Daughter-in law, SueAnn Freiermuth of Beach Lake, 3 grandchildren Shawn Hatton, Corey Freiermuth and Jason Freiermuth. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
