Obituary of Florence A Wood

Florence Anna Day Wood, formerly of Abrahamsville, Pennsylvania went home to Jesus on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart, PA. Born in Rileyville on January 15, 1934 and raised in Equinunk, she was the eldest of nine children born to Oscar A. and Alice V. (Cottell) Day. In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband Donald A. Wood (her snugglebuddy), daughter Nancy Alice Wood Moss, and longtime friend Allen Quinn. Florence and Donald were married by George Goodwin, June 30, 1951 in Equinunk. Surviving are a son Harold D. And wife Denise Wood, daughter Ruth M. Swendsen, son Raymond L. Wood, son Ronald L. Wood and wife Stephanie, and son-in-law John K. Moss, all of Damascus; fourteen grandchildren, each of whom she loved for their individual gifts and personalities, and eight great-grandchildren. Florence will be remembered for her love for her family, her devotion to God, love of root beer floats, and her knack for finding four leaf clovers. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Arthur A Bryant Funeral Home 1228 N. Main St. Honesdale with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM with Pastor Michele Galloway officiating. Burial will be private at Hillcrest Cemetery, Galilee.
