Shirley L. Urban, 82, of Honesdale, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Albert Urban, they were married on Friday, April 28, 1961. Born Thursday, October 8, 1942 in Honesdale, she was a daughter of the late of the Raymond and Elizabeth (King) Conbeer. She graduated from the Honesdale High School and received an Associates Degree in accounting from Keystone College. She most recently owned and operated New Era Security with her son and prior to that she worked at various other places as an accountant Shirley was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Maple Sugars Golf Club at Red Maples Golf Course. Shirley enjoyed planting flowers and antiquing. She will be remembered as a great baker and for her homemade jam. Surviving are four children, daughter Michele (Shelly) Urban-Paradies and her life partner William Polakowski, sons, Albert Urban, and his wife Michele, Raymond Urban, and Christoper Urban and his wife Michelle; 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Joyce Stanton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 15, 2025 from 10:00 -10:30 am (immediately following morning mass) at St. James Church, 361 Great Bend Turnpike, Pleasant Mount, PA with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am. Private Interment will be in St. Juliana's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St., New York, NY 10014.
