Frederick Louis Marsh, 90, of Honesdale, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Ruth (Smith) Marsh, they were married on Saturday, June 9, 1956.
Born Friday, December 14, 1934 in Honesdale, he was a son of the late Carl and Frances (Cole) Marsh.
Fred was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.
He delivered eggs by truck for GLF before starting his career at Wayne County Bank & Trust (Wayne Bank). During his career, he graduated from Rutgers and retired as Vice President & Cashier.
Fred enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, walking, and was proud to have introduced each grandchild to hunting. He often reminisced about his childhood growing up at Lake Cadjaw.
Surviving are a loving daughter, Lisa Reese and her husband Scott; and three grandchildren, Jake Reese, Torre Reese, and Trina (Reese) Fuller and husband Christian, whom he loved dearly and was proud of their accomplishments; and a sister Molly Bellen.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Laurie Marsh, two brothers Gerald and Richard Marsh and a sister Barbara Van Gorder.
As for his being in our lives, we’d like to use Fred’s own oft-used phrase - “Thanks for coming!”
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Arthur A Bryant Funeral Home 1228 N. Main St., Honesdale. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday May 23, 2025 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in East Dyberry Cemetery.
