Deborah J. Kreider passed away Tuesday the 23rd of the year 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale PA from ongoing health complications at the age of 82.
Born December 12, 1942 in Toledo Ohio to Dan & Harriet Jones, she later moved to New Jersey where she attended Pittman High school followed by Elizabethtown College where she earned her medical secretary certificate and met Clyde Kreider whom she later married on June 6th,1964. In June 1965 they welcomed their son Chris, and in June 1967 they welcomed their daughter Amy. In 1976 in the middle of a blizzard during the bicentennial year they moved north to Wayne County PA where they lived the remainder of their life together playing Golf at the Cricket Hill Golf course.
Debbie helped start the YMCA in Honesdale PA and taught aerobics for many years. She was fondly regarded by many over the years for her positive and active lifestyle. Debbie loved God and lived her life in pursuit of him through all she did. She was famous for her coffee cake and deviled eggs which she made all her own, as well as her angel food cake which her grandson was shocked to discover came from a box.
Debbie participated in the Ladies Golf league and couples golf league at Cricket Hill for many years as a member where she also taught her grandkids how to golf. She loved her family fiercely and wore each of their names on a necklace until the day she passed.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband Clyde Kreider, eldest sister Lori Gore (Jerry Gore-spouse) SC, and Sister Marilyn Herd (Allen Herd-spouse) CA, and her younger brother Randy Jones (Janice Jones-spouse) CO. Son Chris Kreider (Penny Kreider-spouse; predeceased) and his two daughters Cate & Ellie Kreider, Daughter Amy Adams (Steven Adams-spouse) and her son Hunter Hill (Chelsea Hill-spouse), and daughter Summer Hill. As well as her two great-grandsons Rorick Hill and Walker Hill. Maddie Henrichs (Josh Henrichs-spouse) and Jacob Adams were her step-grandchildren as well as Clare & Edith Henrichs her two great-grandaughters.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday October 3rd at 1pm at the seventh day Adventist church in Beach Lake. 375 Dunn Rd. Honesdale PA, 18431. A luncheon will follow at the central House.
Flower arrangements can be sent to the church and any donations can be made to the Wayne County YMCA pool fund.
