Arlene Avery Obituary

Arlene (Langendoerfer) Avery 86 of Beach Lake passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Julia Ribaudo Exteded Care Center, Lake Ariel. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Avery, they married on Valentines Day in 1983 and were married for 42 years before Franks passing.


Born October 6 1939 in Honesdale, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Jean Lagendoerfer.

Arlene waitressed, was the owner of Maple City Taxi and along with Frank operated Avery Transportation traveling all over the 50 states.


Surviving are three children, Andrea Suchter, Terrance Simmons Sr. and his wife Mary and, Michael Simmons and his partner Paula Powlus; two grandchildren Terrance Simmons, Jr. and Nicole Marie Simmons; great grandchildren; a brother Ralph Lagendorfer and two sisters Nian Cimahosky and Linda Soden; four step-children Sharon Romaniello and her husband Jim, Lyle Avery and his wife Anne, Linda Avery-Snodgrass and her husband John, and Cynthia Freund and her husband Steve, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren


She was preceded in death by a son Walter Simmons and a step-daughter Holly Rose Avery.


Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
