Lois H. Hafler, 81, most recently of Carbondale passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born September 3, 1944 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Robert Hafler and Genevieve Bellamy Hafler. Lois was employed as a nurse and caregiver, roles she took pride in, as she loved helping patients.

Lois was an avid gardener and would fondly talk of the green thumb she got from her father and the fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers she grew in her garden. She was a devout Christian. A lifelong dog lover, her beloved cocker spaniel, Brandy held a special place in her heart.

Lois was a proud and loving mother of seven. Surviving are two daughters, Laurel Gardner and Heather Mirch; 5 sons, Ed Miller, Shawn Miller, Robert Miller, Tom Miller and Adam Black; 17 grandchildren; great grandchildren; a brother Clark Hafler; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Donald Hafler.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 12-2PM at the Jericho Independent Church, 289 Sterling Rd., Newfoundland, PA 18445, with the funeral service following at 2PM with Rev. Bill Henwood officiating.

Interment will be in the spring at East Canaan Cemetery.
