Anna Carstairs, 93, of Honesdale, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Bethany Village. She was preceded in death buy her husband William Carstairs in 1980.

Born August 6, 1932 in, Cservanka, Yugoslavia she was a daughter of the late Peter Heinz and Anna Pfeiffer Heinz.

Anna moved to Wayne County in 1975 and was employed as a machine operator at the Katz Factory.

She was a former member of the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church, the New Covenant Church in Hawley. For the the last 20 years the she was a member of the New Hope Church in Honesdale. Anna had a strong faith and would witness her faith in the lord wherever she went.

She loved traveling to see family in Chicago, Toronto and especially to Germany bring back chocolate for everyone. She was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Anna will be remembered as a sweet lady with a German attitude.

Anna married William later in life and never had any children; her siblings where Peter Heinz, Daniel Heinz, Edward Heinz, and Herta Keiper.

Following her wishes, interment will be with her mother in Linden Hill Methodist Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.
