Gordon Eugene Ridgely Obituary

Gordon Eugene Ridgely II, 72, formerly of Pelham, Alabama, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

Gordon was born on January 6, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Dorothy Mae (Schumaker) Schaffer and the late Gordon Eugene Ridgely I.

Gordy, as his family and friends called him, spent his life doing honest hands-on work across a variety of trades and industries. He will be remembered for his humor, his stubbornness, his unwavering love of Alabama football, his collection of hats, and for his familiar rallying cry of “Roll Tide.” May he now rest peacefully, forever surrounded by the rolling tide he loved so much.

Gordon is survived by his beloved mother, Dorothy; his sisters, Charmaine Ridgely, Valerie Drinnon, Kim Nordenhold, and Lisa Robbins; his brother, Marlin Michael; his brother-in-law, Roy Nordenhold; his daughter, Stephanie Pileggi; his son, Jakk McKnight; and his cherished grandchildren, Donovan Blevins, Benjamin Blevins, Nathan Pileggi, Owen Pileggi, and Bella McKnight.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with plans for early spring, in Baltimore, Maryland. Additional details will be shared when they become available.
