Eugene Paul Villaume, 99, of Honesdale, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia "Ginny" Claire Villaume who passed away in 2006.

Born February 10, 1927 in Honesdale he was a son of the late John and Carolyn (Koenig) Villaume. Eugene was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy as a Yoeman 3rd Class. He received the WWII Victory Medal as well as The American Campaign Medal.

He graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor's degree and was employed as a bookkeeper at the Farview Prison and retired from Narrowsburg Lumber Company.

He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and served on the church council and property committee, a 60-year member of Waymart Lodge No. 542 F&AM, a member of Texas #4 Fire Company and delivered Meals on Wheels with his wife.

Surviving are two children, daughter Sandy (Kuo) Cheng, and son Michael (Wendy) Villaume; grandchildren, Jason Villaume, Dennis (Tierney) Cheng, Brian (Erin) Villaume, Mary (Jong-Su) Choo, Eric (Sarah) Fox, and Christopher (Kriscka) Cheng; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Villaume, Claire & Paul Choo, Kaeden & Brynlee Fox, Liam Villaume and Caroline Cheng.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Fox, four brothers John (Helen) Villaume, Fred (Caroline) Villaume, Carl (Geraldine) Villaume, and Robert Villaume, and one sister Ruth (Robert) Glossenger.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 10:00 AM to Noon at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church 107 7th St., Honesdale. The Masonic Lodge will conduct their service at Noon, immediately followed by the funeral service with Pastor Adam Reinhardt officiating at the church.

Interment with military honors will be in the spring at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
