Joyce Robbins Skinner, 77, of Honesdale, passed away peacefully Sunday, March, 1, 2026 at Allied Services Hospice Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Kenneth L. Skinner who passed away July 9, 2016.
Born September 12, 1948 in Carbondale, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Doney) Robbins.
She graduated from Honesdale High School in 1966 and attended Churchman Business School in Easton.
Joyce began working at the Penn State Extension Office in Wayne County and then worked in the Wayne County Prothonotary Office where she was Deputy Prothonotary for many years.
She is a current member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, often attending Bible Study when her health allowed. Joyce was also a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church serving on many committees and in various capacities over the years.
Joyce’s unwavering faith and devotion to God was evident as she would often visit and help care for others. She had a quiet unassuming way, and she was a light to many.
She enjoyed her time at the Honesdale Library playing Canasta as well as joining in at the Senior Center for Rummikub and exercise class. She is also known for her Easter egg candy making as well as her Candy Cane Cookies at Christmastime.
Joyce adored her grandchildren Madeline and Finn and loved spending time with them creating special memories.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Skinner Snyder and her husband Albert of Lakewood and Jill Skinner and her husband Thaddeus Sheard of Saylorsburg; two grandchildren, Madeline and Finnegan Sheard, six siblings, Barbara Thomas (Philip), Nancy Sheldon (Donald), Sarah Duda, Susan Mignerey (Albert), Gerald Robbins and Ellen Muller (Robert); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law John Duda and Joseph Tancredi as well as brother and sister-in-law Stuart and Mary Skinner and baby niece Betsy Jo Skinner.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 431 Wayne St., Bethany, PA, with the funeral service following at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Dr. Katie Hopper officiating.
Private interment will be at Indian Orchard Cemetery in the spring.
Arrangements attended to by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home.
