What a wonderful and entertaining lady. Active In the historical society and gave interesting program presentations. Will be missed by many and a teacher that had great influence over multitudes of children when it was so important to get them started in school on the right foot. My own included. The Hocker families.

Helen was an excellent teacher and a mentor to all of us who taught with her. I began my career at Damascus in 1981 and Helen’s son Dean was in my 7th grade math class! Both of my own children had Mrs. Adams for kindergarten. She always called the children “friends.” She would say “Good morning, friends!” And the children would reply “Good morning, Mrs. Adams!” I know that Helen served her church in Rileyville by preparing the children with their Holy Communion classes. She was civic minded and was very dedicated to the Damascus Ambulance Corps. She was such a great lady and respected by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

When I was young, she was my teacher. After college, I was blessed to have her as my mentor. I will forever treasure working as partners for 7 years. Although she was a master teacher she always encouraged me and made me feel good about my teaching even as she helped pushed me to 'actually' becoming a good teacher. My career of 36 years of teaching with those 7 being my most treasured.
She was a great friend. A rare, precious, strong, caring and loving soul.
Bless her and everyone who feels that empty spot she left behind.

Bill and Helen were both very dear friends. In earlier years, my first husband, Ernie and I played cards with them once a month, rotating first at their home and then at our home. And, every New Year’s Eve we spent together for years. Helen was always there for me through thick and thin, giving me advice – and some of it pretty stern advice, but she was very wise and caring, and a very dear friend. I love you, Helen!

For 20 years we shared a trip to the beauty salon.
So many memories of our times together.
Every week for the last 2 years we shared an hour to catch up for the week.
Rest in Peace by dear friend.
