Daniel J. (Dan) Pallis of Abrahamsville, PA passed away on April 1, 2026 at the age of 92. Dan was predeceased by his wife Elinor Pallis, son Daniel Pallis, and his sblings (Kay, John, Sonny, Anne and Mit). Dan is survived by his sons Steven (Mary) Pallis and David Pallis along with 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

While Dan’s life had many varied chapters, the throughlines of his world were his love of family, dedication to public service, and the peace and solitude of nature. Dan was born in Milanville, PA though spent his childhood in Brooklyn, NY. After serving as a US Marine on tour in the Mediterranean, he returned to Bellmore, NY where he raised his family with his wife Ellie, and served 20 years in the NYPD.

After his retirement from the NYPD in 1979, his family moved back to Damascus, PA, a place Dan loved for its quiet solitude and connection with nature. In Damascus he enjoyed caring for his beef farm while also serving as a postman. In retirement Dan enjoyed staying connected with other veterans in his community, watching the Mets, and reading the paper while drinking coffee in the company of his neighbors at his local diner. For 44 years he loved watching the seasons change on his farmland before spending his last 3 years in Warrington, PA near his son Steven and his family.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Galilee, PA at 10:00 AM.
