Diana Elizabeth West (née Barcola), 78, of the Wayne County area, passed away peacefully, listening to her favorite music, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born on January 31, 1948, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, Diana was a woman who lived with an open heart and a bright spirit. She unconditionally loved God and her family above all else, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—shopping for treasures, soaking up the sun, and most of all, spending time surrounded by the people she cherished. Whether it was a lively gathering with family or sharing laughs with friends, Diana had a gift for making every moment more fun and full of warmth.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William James West Sr., her brother James Barcola, and her son William James West Jr.

Diana is survived by her brother, Phillip Barcola; her daughter, Donna Marie Rauer; her son, Samuel Joseph West; her grandchildren, Randal Gager, Brian Becker, Zachary West, Autumn West, Carissa West, Sebastian West, Madison West, and Aurora Rauer; and her great-grandchildren, Maverick, Donavan, Vivianna, Nathaniel, Colton, and Amara. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and all whose lives she touched with her kindness and joyful energy.

A burial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests that flowers be sent to Arthur Bryant Funeral Home in Honesdale (optionally from Joy, at Honesdale Greenhouse) no later than Friday, June 12th.
