Boyd Tyler, 90, of Hawley, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Judyth (Jenkins) Tyler who passed away April 28, 2010.

Born February 25, 1936 in Braman, he was a son of the late Verne and Frances (Layton) Tyler. He graduated from high school and served with the National Guard in the 1950s

He was employed as a Truck Driver working with various companies, worked as welder and also worked with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

He was a member of the Braman United Methodist Church and also a member of the PA Sheriffs’ Association.

He enjoyed playing his Playstation 5 and in his younger years he enjoyed stock car racing, hunting and playing softball.

Surviving are two daughters Cindi Spuhler and her husband John, of Honesdale, Kimber Bayly and her husband Corey of Honesdale, two sons, Randy Tyler, of Honesdale, and Wayde Tyler and his wife Donnalee, of Honesdale; stepdaughter Tera-Lisa Miller; four grandchildren Ryan Erhardt, Jordan Tyler, Alex Brand, Kyle Schoebel, three great grandchildren, Damian Schoebel, Everly and Nolan Tyler; a sister Clara Reed, of FL; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law Laurie Dauchert and her husband Bryan, a step son-in-law David Miller; and six siblings Beverly Ruth, Martha Bryson, Francis, Robert, Layton and Les Tyler.

A Celebration of Life will be announced for a future date.
