Obituary of Harriet C. Thomas

Harriet C. Thomas, 92, of Honesdale, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 in the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale surrounded by her family members and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Thomas in 1985. Born on December 27, 1918 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Grambs) Thomas. For many years, Harriet was employed at the Katz Department Store where she worked in the Children's Department. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale, where was formerly active with the Three M's Club. Harriet especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Beth Korb and her husband, George of Honesdale; and one grandson, David Thomas Korb also of Honesdale; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margretta Borsdam, and a brother, Leonard Thomas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Rob Kazinski officiating. Friends may visit on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made in Harriet's Memory to the Wayne Memorial Health Foundation 601 Park Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. Interment will be Wednesday in Glen Dyberry Cemetery, Honesdale.
