Obituary of Mark Lewis Austin

Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mark Austin, lifelong resident of Hawley, passed away over the Christmas holiday. Well-known around town, Mark was a unique individual who lived life on his own terms. He would often be seen driving his truck around town, waving at those he knew, getting pizza from Larry's Pizza, or stopping in the Hawley Garage just to see what the guys were up to. Mark was a quiet, gentle man known for helping others so much so that he was the inspiration for a fictional story in Will Wyckoff's most recent book, Slow Fire Burning. Mark was friendly and caring to those who he felt deserved it while he chose to ignore those he felt weren't worth the effort. He will be missed by those who knew him well and appreciated him for who he was. To those that didn't take the time to know him, that is your loss. Rest in Peace Mark. Per Mark's wishes, no service will be held. Donations in Mark's memory can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter 138 Miller Drive Honesdale, PA. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral home 1228 Main Street Honesdale, Pa 18431
