Louise E. Heal, 97 of Honesdale, formerly of Whiting, NJ and Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Harry Elliot Heal III in 1991. Born June 14, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Agnes (Brady) Giles. Louise grew up on Staten Island NY and was an avid athlete. She played semi-professional softball in her youth and played in the 1939 World's Fair. She raised her family in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ and retired in Whiting, NJ where she enjoyed playing tennis and was an accomplished ping-pong player. Louise cherished her time in Honesdale and was well known in the community where she enjoyed taking long walks through town. She is survived by four children: Lynnda Vercelli and her husband Carl of Damascus, Nancy Astrab of West Chester, PA, Harry E. Heal of Whiting, NJ, and Raymond Heal of Moultonborough, NH; two sisters: Marion Miros and her husband Walter and Evelyn Lein; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Morgan, Robert, Arthur, Agnes, Harriet, and Elsie. A celebration of Louise's life will be held with light refreshments served at Stourbridge Square Apartments 316 11th St, Honesdale, PA 18431 Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Cemetery, Paramus, NJ at a later date. Arrangements are attended by Arthur A.
