Jean D. Stralow, Beach Lake, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Wayne Woodlands in Waymart. Jean was born May 4, 1926 in Honesdale the daughter of the late William and Bessie Robinson. She graduated from Honesdale High School on June 6, 1944, a sad day with the news of the D-Day Invasion in Normandy. Jean played basketball in high school and worked at boating houses in Beach Lake when she was younger. She later worked as a telephone operator. Jean married Raymond Dexter on June 2, 1945 and for many years operated a farm and owned Dexts Construction . She was a girl scout leader, an adult literacy teacher, a hospital volunteer, and involved with the association of her condo in Florida for 30 years. Jean's main interest in life was her faith and the Methodist Church. Over the years she taught Sunday School , served on boards, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. Many years after Ray's death she married Harold Stralow in Florida on February 13, 1999. Jean is survived by her children, Bonnie Koberlein and her husband Art of Beach Lake, Fred Dexter and his wife Pat of Florida, and Cindy Olver of Beach Lake; grandchildren, Wayne Koberlein and his wife Anna of Honesdale, Thom Koberlein and his wife Toni of Virginia, Kim Peacock and her husband Adam of Florida, Nick Dexter and his wife Ashley of Florida, Michele Borsdam and her husband Mike of Beach Lake, Mark Olver and his wife Tammy, Nadine Doolittle of Philadelphia; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, four sisters: Dot ,Helen, Hazel, Vera and two brothers: Rex and Bill. Jean was preceded in death by her two husbands, four sisters, two brothers, and one daughter, Mary Ann. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November29, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Beach Lake United Methodist Church, 7 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, Pa with Pastor James House officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 10:00-11:00. For health considerations mask will be required to attend. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Beach Lake United Methodist Church, 7 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, Pa 18405.
