Margaret (Margie) J. Dougherty, 57, of Honesdale, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Geisinger CMC in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Ann Gauthier. Born on January 2, 1966 in Plattsburg, NY, Margie graduated with her Associates in Accounting from Lackawanna College, working for several local businesses. After exploring options within her accounting career, Margie ventured back to her original passion in nursing. She spent many years working as a CNA at Ellen Memorial, making many lifelong friends. Her dream to further her career was realized when she graduated GPN, Summa Cum Laude, as Valedictorian of her class, from CTC of Lackawanna County. Her true passion, though, was always her children. Margie enjoyed spending her free time gardening, dancing, embroidering, gaming and playing the family game of Shoot the Gap. She especially loved being with her family. Surviving are her husband, Kevin S. Dougherty of Honesdale; her children Nicole O'Connell and late husband Chet of Honesdale, Briana Scholl and husband Ray of Honesdale, Kevin P. Dougherty and partner Kim Rudd of Olyphant and Michael Dougherty and partner Krystal Whitney of Waymart; her sisters Theresa Molden, AL, Annie Molden Kolarcik and partner Nathaniel Keith Baines of Dunmore and Debbie Slish and husband Steve of Honesdale; her grandchildren Christian, Nick and Bella O'Connell, Nate and Jace Scholl, Brett and Kaleb Rudd and Finn Rudd-Dougherty; many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main St. Honesdale, PA 18431. A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 16th at 10:00 am at Crosspoint Bible Church, 201 10th St. Honesdale, PA 18431. Interment will follow at Indian Orchard Cemetery.
