Obituary of Franklin John Piercy

Please share a memory of Franklin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Franklin John Piercy passed away unexpectedly at 63 on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024. Born on October 25th, 1960 in Honesdale, Pa. to Franklin and Lillian (Keast) Piercy, Frank went on to graduate from Honesdale High School in 1979. Frank was known for his dedicated work ethic and his warm, friendly personality. He had a long career in construction, working for Linde, Leeward, Pioneer, HRI and most recently, Bill Joseph Blacktopping. Away from work, Frank took great pleasure in the outdoors. On any given day Frank would be hunting, fishing, camping or simply enjoying the natural world with his dog, Shiloh. The two often spent weekends and winter days at Ten Mile Hollow Sportsman Club, where he had been a member for most of his life. Frank loved to snowmobile and went on many trips up north with friends and members of Ace Snowmobile Club. In his younger years, he was an avid softball player, most notably for the Kuester's team. Many wouldn't have guessed but Frank was an excellent baker, making cakes for every family occasion. He often joked about selling his cheesecakes after he retired. He was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints, dating back to their struggles in the 1970s and 80s, when they were affectionately known as the "Aints." Frank will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated son, loyal brother, favorite uncle and one-of-a kind friend. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Franklin and sister Joanne. He is survived by his mother Lillian, brother Jerry, brother-in-law Ken, niece Valerie, her husband Alex, nephew Kenny and his wife Alisha, as well as many cousins, relatives and dear friends. Frank, you are so sorely missed. Your affable natural and good spirits made you everyone's friend. We hope you and Joanne are jamming to tunes, quizzing each other on who sang what and reminiscing on all the good times. A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 14th from 5-7:30 pm at the Arthur Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale PA with a memorial service immediately to follow. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In addition, the family would like to thank the Pennsylvania State Police, Ledgedale and Lakeville Volunteer Fire Companies, Tafton Fire Company and Germania Hose Company. Any memorial contributions may be made to these dedicated teams in Frank's honor.
