William T. Bellen, 89, of Honesdale, Pa. passed away on Wednesday August 15, 2012, at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton. He is survived by his wife, Molly A. Bellen; and son, William Bellen and his wife Rose of Maryland NY; step-daughter, Cathy Kapschull and her husband Charles of Waymart; grandchildren: Kim Daniels and her husband Patrick of Honesdale, Bradley Bellen and his wife Kristi of Maryland NY, Margaret of Maryland NY, and Jenna Fitzpatrick and her husband Sean of Portland, Maine; great-grandchildren: Mitchell and Nicole Daniels, William and Katherine Bellen of Maryland, NY, and Molly Fitzpatrick of Maine; he was preceded in death by grandsons: William E. Bellen and Bryan Kapschull. He has a sister, Dorothy of Carlisle, Pa; and several nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Scranton, he served in the United States Army during World War II where he met his first wife, Margaret "Peg" Bellen of England who also preceded him in death. He worked many years as Merchandise Manager for W.T. Grant. In later years he worked as custodian for Wayne Highlands Middle School and Wayne Bank. He was proud to be a member of the Honesdale Masonic Lodge No. 218, Free and Accepted Masons. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wesley Room of the Central United Methodist Church, 205 11th Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Robert Kazinski officiating. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.
