Marion D. Swingle , 84 of Honesdale died October 14, 2012. Born in Honesdale October 16, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Russell O. Dennis and Bertha E. Dennis. She graduated from Honesdale High School Class of 1945 where she was an honor student, secretary of her class, co-editor of the school publication, "The Spotlight", and head majorette of the high school band. Being a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Honesdale for over 45 years, she served in the choir, as president of the Women's Society, as a Deacon and was active in various aspects of the church. In 1980 she moved to Naples, FL where she resided for 25 years. While living in Naples, she joined The Embroiders' Guild of America and greatly enjoyed and became proficient in all forms of embroidery including Hardanger, Pulled Thread Embroidery, Brazilian Embroidery and Counted Cross-Stitch. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bonita Springs, FL, a member of the stitchery group of the church, "A Time to Stitch", making and embroidering the paramounts for the church, the stoles for the minister and cards of encouragement for the sick. She was also a choir member. In 2006 she returned to Honesdale to reside with her daughter and her husband. She is survived by her loving daughter Susan B. Seber and husband David T. Seber; a sister, Betty M. Dennis, Ellen Memorial Health Care Center; a step-daughter, Jill Swingle Porter and husband Peter of Paupack, Pa and two step-grandchildren, Amanda Porter and Briton Porter. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Attorney John J. Koehler and second husband, Frederick F. Swingle. There will be no viewing and her remains will be scattered upon the grounds where she lived and was so happy. Arrangements were made by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Honesdale, Pa.
