Christopher Rowan, 28, of Honesdale, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center of Wyoming Valley due to injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Born on September 8, 1984 in Carbondale, he was the son of Lee and Robin Hardler Rowan of Honesdale. Christopher was a graduate of Wayne Highlands High School Class of 2002. He was a former member of the Bethany and Cold Spring 4-H Clubs. Christopher showed dairy cows and sheep at the Wayne County Fair and also showed livestock at the Northeast PA District 4-H Show, the Pennsylvania State 4-H Show, and the Pennsylvania Farm Show. He was a member of the NRA, and was avid hunter and fisherman. Christopher helped in the family butcher shop at Hardler Farm and especially enjoyed working on recipes there. Christopher will be remembered for his outgoing personality; he always had a smile and always enjoyed life. Christopher is also survived by a paternal grandmother: Anne F. Hersinger of Scranton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Thomas J. Rowan, Jr., and Alma and Edward Hardler. In death, Christopher has given others a second chance for life through his participation as an organ donor to the Gift of Life organization. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Wesley Room at the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale, PA with Pastor Albert Rodriguez, friend of the family, officiating. The family requests casual dress. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made in Christopher's memory to the Nebzydoski-White Memorial Junior 4-H Livestock Scholarship c/o Rosalind Williams, Secretary 409 Stock Farm Road, Lake Ariel PA 18436. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.
