Marie Znak Gleason, 90, of Cherry Ridge Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 in the Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. Mrs. Gleason was born in Brooklyn, NY. She was predeceased by her husband George Gleason in February 1991. Marie was the daughter of the late Adam Petrovich Znak and Antonina Soroka Znak. She is survived by three nieces, Lydia and Vera Yurtchuk, both of Woodland Hills, California, Anastasia Yurtchuk Ricci of Ceres, California. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Olga Znak Yurtchuk, and infant Vera Znak; a brother, Nicholas Znak; and brother-in-law, Walter Yurtchuk. For most of her life she worked in a business world. She was a graduate of Girls High School, Brown's Business School, and attended St. John's University, all in Brooklyn, New York. She began her employment in 1940 as a secretary for a brewery in Brooklyn, New York. She was an executive secretary for a Wall Street investment banking firm and retired from Wayne County Government in Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Tikhon's Monastery in South Canaan. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church at 316 Cassville Road, Jackson, NJ 08527 with Father John Prokopiuk officiating. Friends may visit on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. Interment will be in St. Vladimir's Cemetery, Jackson, NJ.
