Obituary of Irvin M. Schultze

IRVIN MILLER SCHULTZE 99 Years Old Irvin Miller Schultze, was born on April 19, 1914 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to George F. Schultze and Mary Elizabeth Miller. He attended the Newark College of Fine and Industrial Arts. During World War II, Irvin was a designer for Gibbs and Cox, Naval Architects. He contributed to the design of the US Navy's LST Landing Craft used by the Allies at Normandy Beach. Later he worked for the Standard Oil Company, now Exxon Mobile Corp.. The last 15 years of his career were spent at US Army CECOM Post Engineers, Fort Manmouth, New Jersey. His architectural talents included the design of many residential homes as well as the family home in Little Silver, New Jersey in 1959. Irvin was predeceased by his wife, Mildred J. Henel Schultze in 1987. Surviving are his son, David I. Schultze and his wife Wini, Prescott, Arizona and his daughter, Susan E. Bleier and her husband Steven A. Bleier, Honesdale, Pa; four grandchildren, D. Peter Schultze and his wife Michele, San Ramon, California, Jenifer Diegel and her husband Mark, Sammamish, Washington, David C. Clark and his wife Dena, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jennifer Carter and her husband Robby, Centreville, Virginia. Irvin has four great grandchildren and one great grandchild expected in November. Irvin loved his family and enjoyed sailing, fishing, and boating on Barnegat Bay, NJ. He was an avid golfer and loved birds and animals. He was a Mason with the Grand Lodge of New Jersey. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Red Bank, NJ. Interment will be at the Church's Memorial Garden with a service, time and date will be determined. Donations in his memory may be given to the United Methodist Church of Red Bank, 247 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey 07701, or an animal rescue fund of one's choice.
