Grace M. Sampson, 84, of Honesdale, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at home after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. Sampson, who died October 21, 2005. Born September 26, 1929 in Berlin Township, Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Friend E. Seeley and Marion Harvey Seeley. Grace was a lifelong attendee of the Tabernacle Bible Church, formerly known as the Honesdale Gospel Tabernacle. She loved her cat, Tabby, and especially enjoyed her friends and sharing memories with good company. She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Gumpper and her friend Jim of Honesdale, Linda Oakley and her husband Dan of Honesdale, and Patricia Sherwood and her husband David of Manheim, PA; six granddaughters: Beth Zaidi, Erin Shepard, Amanda Woolslayer, Rebecca D'Amico, Angie Sherwood, and Kristy Sherwood-Smyser; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bonnie West who died in 2013. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Pastor John Banks officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made in Grace's memory to the Tabernacle Bible Church 455 Grove Street, Honesdale, PA 18431, or the Dessin Animal Shelter 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431. Interment will be in East Dyberry Cemetery, Honesdale.
