James E. Katz, 60 of Honesdale passed away after a long battle with Atypical Parkinsonism at his home on January 31, 2014. He was born in Honesdale the son of the late Robert W. and Alice B. Katz. Jim graduated from the Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY and Ryder College in Trenton, NJ. After college he returned to Honesdale and joined the family business, Katz Underwear Company of Honesdale. For the past six years, he was a rehab aid at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Unit and the Wayne Memorial Outpatient Rehab. Jim enjoyed collecting and selling vintage costume jewelry and was an accomplished artist. He is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Cozens and her husband Kris of Newark, DE; a granddaughter Sydney Cozens; a brother, Robert Katz and his wife Deborah of Honesdale; a sister, Mariann Thompson and her husband Kenneth of Honesdale; five nieces, Julie Katz, Tamara Marks, Irene Marks, Alison Buozis, and Alice Thomas; one great niece, Eliza Buozis; one great nephew, Bryson Thomas and his stepchildren Stephanie Fallon and Leslee Klinkaweicz and their children Isabella Fallon and Caroline and Leah Klinkaweicz. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa.
