Marie A. Bajadek, 72, fondly known as "Mrs. B" of Honesdale, was taken by the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2014 while in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her husband Thomas Bajadek. They were married on May 25,1963 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last spring. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Ivory. Marie was a teaching assistant at St. Vincent's Catholic School in Honesdale. She was very active with the Catholic School and volunteered in various activities within the community. Many may remember her as a Cub Scout leader, VIP volunteer, HHS band parent, First Aid instructor at the Honesdale Catholic School- but mostly a great Wife, Mother and Friend. Her candor and sincerity were unique qualities for which she was known. Her love of the ocean drew her to Ocean City, MD where she could enjoy the rolling ocean waves and salty sea air. Marie is survived by four children: Debra Ellsworth and her husband Jeffrey of East Benton, PA, Mark Bajadek and his wife Tracy of Newfoundland, Andrea Powers and her husband Michael of Edison, NJ, and Jennifer Bajadek of Peckville; a brother, Patrick Ivory and his wife Terri of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren, Victoria and Vanessa Ellsworth, Joshua and Nicholas Bajadek, Kaitlyn Powers, and Sidney Reinfurt. She was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Ivory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 AMin the Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church,314 Chestnut Street, Hawley, Pa with Father Richard Beck officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the church. Friends may visit the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home1228 Main StreetHonesdale on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Honesdale in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association in Marie's name.
