Dorothy A. Orth, 99 of Seelyville, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley A. Orth in 1969. Born on November 3, 1911 in Seelyville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Erk) Robinson. Dorothy graduated from Honesdale High School, Class of 1928. A homemaker, Dorothy loved to work in her flower gardens which many folks traveled miles to see. Her flowers were very important to her. Dorothy worked for several years as secretary for the Carley Brook Lumber Company in Honesdale. She dearly loved her many relatives and neighbors. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Seelyville Union Sunday School where she served as the Secretary. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale, the United Methodist Women, and the Honesdale Country Club at Kellows Pond. She is survived by two daughters: Janet Richards of Port Jervis, NY, and Margaret Van Name and her husband Dennis of Haddonfield, NJ; four grandchildren: Michael Van Name and his wife Kristina, and Steven, Donald and Peter Van Name; two nieces, Joan Green and Cindy Henry both of Honesdale; and a sister-in-law, Alberta Orth. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Alfred Robinson; and a son-in-law, Lawrence Richards. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Robert Kazinski, pastor of Central United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may visit on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Glen Dyberry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to: Central United Methodist Church 205 11th Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 or the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxillary 601 Park Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.
