Wendy Kim (McClintock) Hoffman, 58, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of March 5th 2014 surrounded by family members at home. Wendy was born March 11th, 1956 in Barrington, Illinois to Carol and David McClintock. Wendy graduated from Carlton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1977 with a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Psychology. She moved to Honesdale, PA in 1977. Wendy married Kevin Hoffman on September 6, 1979 in Bethany, PA. Wendy will be remembered as a devoted mother and wife. She influenced the lives of many students as a Montessori teacher and many others as a yoga teacher and massage therapist. She was trained and certified by the American Montessori Society in Scarsdale, NY, and taught at several schools, including The Children's Montessori Workshop, a school she started and ran for several years. She began teaching yoga in 1975 in the physical education department at Carleton College and continued teaching in the Honesdale area and at SUNY Binghamton until 2007. Wendy was also a skilled massage therapist, trained in Shiatsu Massage, Swedish Massage, and traditional Thai Massage. Wendy was preceded in death by her father, David C. McClintock. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kevin Hoffman, son, Jason Hoffman, daughter-in-law Saramma Hoffman, daughter, Doni Hoffman, mother, Carol McClintock, sister Holly Bowling (IL) brother, Kennon McClintock (ID), brother Steven McClintock (CO). The family is deeply grateful for the care and support provided by caregivers who have helped, especially Kari Simons, Mia Mizwinski and Hospice of the Sacred Heart. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Sunday, March 9th 2014 at 2:00pm at Keen Lake Lodge, 15 Warren Rix Drive, Waymart. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm.
