Obituary of Gerald L. Collins

Gerald L. Collins, 91, of Cold Spring, died Friday, March 21, 2014 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, after an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie B. Collins who died on February 1, 2011. Born July 13, 1922 in Cobleskill, NY, he was the son of the late Elmer and Eliza Goswoller Collins. Following high school, Gerald served in the United States Army. He later worked as a Territory Sales Manager for Starline Farm Equipment and traveled throughout the East Coast of the United States in that capacity. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale. Gerald was an avid and talented craftsman who enjoyed woodworking throughout his life. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Faliski and her husband Charles of Cold Spring; and three grandchildren, Sarah Faliski, Eve Collins, and Jerry Collins. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Collins, who died in 2000; and thirteen brothers and sisters. In accordance with his wishes, following cremation, memorial services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
