Mr. Eldred was my history teacher at Nyack College beginning in September of 1986. I've always loved history, but I had never before sat under a teacher like him. He made history come alive! He also became an advisor and a friend to me, and to many other students. It is a great comfort to know that now, because of the LORD Jesus Christ, that Mr. Eldred is in Heaven, which according to St. Paul, is "far better". I'll always remember Mr. Eldred.

Dear Eldred Family,
My most sincere condolences for the death of Dr. Eldred.
I'm really sorry about the delay to send you my condolences. I found out about the death of Dr. Eldred only a few days ago. He was a great man, a great teacher, a good friend and a great Christian man. He was one of my History Professors and also my guidance counselor for three years. God bless you and give you strength and comfort during this time. We will meet him again in heaven when our time come to leave this world and go to the lord.
Please send me your address,I will send you a condolences card. Sincerely, Edwin

Dick was a wonderful colleague at Nyack in the 70s and 80s. When Linda and I started teaching there he went out of his way to make us welcome and include us in faculty social events. He was a master teacher who offered good practical advice and encouragement to us as we were starting out and finding our way as teachers. His passion for history and genealogy, his dedication to his students, and his deep faith were always apparent. He was a great friend and mentor.

Mr. Eldred was a wonderful teacher. I am thankful for all the things he taught me in the classroom and in the Missionarian office. He was a wonderful example of his Savior.

Above all other men attending TBC, I have had greatest respect for Richard. His dedication to serve his Lord and Savior were first and foremost in his life. His wit and humor will be missed at our church gatherings.
