Raymond J. Perham, Jr., 87, of Pleasant Mount, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the home of his daughter. He is survived by his wife, the former Audrey D. Stiles. Born on April 14, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Raymond J. Perham Sr. and Mary Alma (Gealy) Perham. Ray graduated from Pleasant Mount High School, Class of 1942, where he was honored as an outstanding athlete. Ray worked for several years, and retired from Williamson and Company in Caldwell, NJ; he also played sports in New Jersey with the Company Ball Team Champions. He was a member of the Pleasant Mount United Methodist Church and the Pleasant Mount Emergency Services with Belmont Fire Co. Ray was inducted into the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame and maintained a lifelong interest in sports and athletics. Ray enjoyed traveling around to social functions, especially church dinners. In former years, Ray and Audrey enjoyed wintering in Florida. He was a community-minded person who enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Ray will be remembered for his wit and humor, his ability to whistle, and fondness of telling jokes and singing. He dearly loved his home and family. He is also survived by five daughters: Karen Hall and her husband Tom of Lake Ariel, Sandy Zigon and her companion Jim Schill of Harleysville, PA, Dawn Skinner of Prompton, Kay McBride and her companion Tim Dougherty of Forest City, and Gwen Saul and her companion, Herb Peak of Pleasant Mount; one brother: Gomer Perham of Pleasant Mount; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three siblings: Elsie Jane White, Sarah Frisbie, and John Peter Perham; and a son-in-law: Lyle Skinner. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Pleasant Mount United Methodist Church, Pleasant Mount, PA with Pastor Ed Cameron officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Arthur A.
