Obituary of Lorna I. Thompson

Lorna I. Thompson, 87, of Honesdale, died Wednesday morning, July 2, 2014 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley M. Thompson. Born January 1, 1927 in Pleasant Valley, Wayne County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Allen Thorne and Evelyn Baldwin Thorne. Lorna loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden and flowerbeds. She was a very hard worker. Lorna attended the Tabernacle Bible Church in Honesdale. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Martha J. Thompson of Honesdale; and a sister-in-law, Romaine Crawford of Hancock, NY; three grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, Donald C. Thompson, and a brother, Robert Vernon Thorne. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale with Pastor John Banks of the Tabernacle Bible Church officiating. Friends may visit on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Monday in Shehawken Cemetery.
